About Ann
I grew up in Beaumont, Texas and moved to the Houston area after two years of college. I moved and worked at the University of Houston, which is where I met my future husband a month after I moved there. We made a very good life there and in 2008 my husband retired from a long career at NASA. After running from hurricanes and living with humidity we made the decision to move to the North Texas area to be closer to family and start our new life.
I have had many occupations in my life: decorator, entrepreneur, jewelry designer, gift shop owner, floral designer, artist, painter, printmaker, ceramic sculptor, papermaker and teacher. Art has been the common thread that runs through all of these endeavors, and is the one thing that has anchored my life.
My art media currently include encaustics (painting with beeswax), mixed media and acrylics. I like to experiment with different techniques and I am always learning new medium and love to take classes and learn how other teachers teach their art. I love to travel and see art wherever I go! I have learned that no matter where you go, you will find great artists and art everywhere! What a great life!
